According to the police, the body was taken to the Ukhrul police station and they were working to register a case in connection with the incident at the time of filing this report.

Reliable sources informed that Khargi’s brother found the body around 4 pm on Monday. The victim had reportedly gone missing on March 15, after he was hired for his taxi services.

Meanwhile, the Ukhrul District Taxi Welfare Association (UDTWA) has expressed their strong condemnation over the cold blooded murder of Bishal Khargi, which was carried out under the guise of hiring his taxi services.

“Such acts of heinous crime committed against a taxi driver who was simply serving the public are appalling and have no place in our society,” it said.

The UDTWA has demanded justice to be served and for the perpetrators to be held accountable for their actions at the earliest.

It highlighted the need for respect and care towards taxi drivers, who play an essential role in serving the public.

The taxi association has also called for the society to come together to condemn such acts of violence and work towards creating a safer environment for all taxi drivers in the district.
